The Connect project is delighted to announce that the Project Coordinator for the Uganda Connect team, Mr. Francis Ogwal, received a Presidential award for ‘Advancing the cause of biodiversity’. Mr. Ogwal received the award from H.E the President of the Republic of Uganda on 1 May 2019 during the National Labour Day celebrations in Agago District, Uganda. He was rewarded due to his tireless efforts to conserve and protect biodiversity in Uganda, and his outstanding work at the international level. This includes most recently serving as Chair for the Subsidiary Body on Implementation to the Convention on Biological Diversity. We would like to invite all Connect project partners to congratulate Francis on this fantastic achievement.
